Floor plans refer to the arrangement of rooms in a building. It is a scale diagram of a room or complete building as if seen from above. Essentially these are almost always drawn on a 2D scale before architecture realization take it to the next level namely 3D rendering.

How to read my 2D floor plan?
It is quite similar to reading a map . The point of the view is downward from above, but unlike the conventional map , a floor plan is understood to be drawn at a particular vertical position (commonly at about mid-level between floors).
Designs below this level are seen, layout at this level are shown ‘cut’ in a plan-section, and layout above this vertical position within the structure are omitted or shown dashed. Plan view or ” plan form” is defined as a vertical orthographic projection of an object on a horizontal plane.
